Many years ago I began collecting sayings and extracts from books and other things I was reading which struck me as amusing or thought-provoking. Looking through the notebooks and cuttings, I thought it might be nice to share some of my favourite quotes with a wider audience and so in 2013 I put together a selection. These I had printed and distributed them to friends at Christmas. The initiative seemed to go down very well and has encouraged me to produce a new anthology every year since then.
